From Esperanto: stari («to be standing») + -igi («to cause to be»)

Esperanto is the world’s most widely spoken constructed international auxiliary language. Created by Polish ophthalmologist L. L. Zamenhof in 1887, it was intended to be a universal second language for international communication.

 

It was intended to be a simple, neutral and universal second language for international communication. The objective of this language is not to replace national languages but to be a easy learning alternative for international communication, preventing language from being a barrier to communication.
